The keynote "Build the Future of Decentralized and Secure AI with Mind Network" at the Investing in AI Summit during DevCon 2024 stood out for its focus on the intersection of secure and decentralized AI. Dennis Song (Mind Network) and Kyle Song (Google Cloud) explored how decentralization and secure models could shape the future of technology.
Dennis emphasized the risks posed by the monopolization of data and GPU resources by centralized AI firms like OpenAI and Meta. "Decentralization would help mitigate this kind of risk, especially as the sources of data and GPU resources are cornered by just a few companies," he explained.
Kyle highlighted Google’s commitment to trusted AI development through tools like TPU-based computing and Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE). "Our goal is to deliver trusted AI—secure, private, and verifiable results—by leveraging both decentralized consensus protocols and outsourced computing," he shared.
Mind Network showcased its solution for AI consensus challenges. Dennis explained that AI systems must address the inherent randomness in training and evaluation. "In AI networks, privacy is far more critical because intelligence assets can be stolen through copying. FHE ensures that these assets remain secure and confidential," he noted.
Kyle underlined Google’s decade-long development of FHE frameworks and their integration into TensorFlow to make secure AI more accessible. "We’re reducing barriers for developers building secure AI models," he added.
This keynote exemplified the vital collaboration between leading Web2 companies and innovative Web3 platforms, pushing the boundaries of decentralized AI.
